Anxiety is an emotion all of us feel, some more than others. Feeling it occasionally is normal but feeling that way all the time is not. It becomes a problem when it is excessive. It stems form negative feelings being out of control. Learning to control these thoughts is challenging but learning strategies can be effective. Letting go is difficult but with practice it can be done. Training the brain and CBT is the focus of this resource. More serious conditions need medical intervention.
To support worry and anxiety the goal is to break down the negative thoughts.
Change the thoughts. Focus on being realistic. Focus on what can be controlled. Disengage and use effective calming strategies.
Questions to consider.
What are the benefits of worrying? How does it make you feel? Are there any positive impacts from worrying? Is it productive? Provide examples of negative thinking. What can you do differently that would be a positive step? Is your worry legitimate or imagined?
